policies and local product supply chains of Japan and Thailand for the purposes of generating and managing community goods that foster economic growth and sustainability. The research team has identified three pairs of provinces from the two countries, namely: Hokkaido and Saraburi, Okinawa and Ratchaburi, and Kanazawa and Lampang. These provinces exhibit similarities in terms of production of local goods, including dairy, beef, pork, pineapple, hand-woven fabric, and ceramic pottery. Furthermore, these provinces also resemble each other in respect to their sociocultural capital and opportunities for economic growth.
